How Long To Recover From Arthroscopic Knee Surgery?

Hello, I had arthroscopic knee surgery 6 months ago due to pain in my knee. Doc said I had synivitis. When he went in he said he cleaned it out and shaved down some of my "plica?". I am 29 and healthy. My knee still has swelling. Can not fully bend my knee and have some pain at times. I've also been taking naproxen twice daily to try to help. I am frustrated and very upset. I was expecting this recovery to take 6 to 8 weeks max. What do I do?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir,
I understand your concern. The whole idea of arthroscopic surgery is that patient recovers as early as possible. What was the indication for surgery in your case...was it diagnostic or therapeutic. Synovitis is the swelling of the joint lining which can happen in so many conditions . And what was the post op physio protocol you were put on? These are very important in deciding the prognosis of your knee pain. I suggest you take a second opinion if the primary surgeon is telling you to wait for some more time for recovery. Hope this has helped you.
