Hello,

The medication is usually given for not more than five days at a stretch and since the bleeding is not under control even after three days of medication, further treatment is needed. Underlying cause of the bleeding should be detected and corrected. Hormone therapy may be required for a couple of cycles to get the cycles back on track. Supplement with proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle and avoidance of stress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam, OBGYN
