How Long Should Flucloxacillin Be Taken For Vaginal Swelling And White Discharge?
I have a swollen vaginal infection and i dont know what exactly it is.One side is quite swollen and has a white milky discharge. I am expecting 19 weeks. Today i went to see my GP and she has prescribed me to take antibiotic flucloaxillin 500mg i have completed my one day course but the swelling is just the same and the pain too.just wanted to ask how long will it take for the antibiotic to work ?
Hii , Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here
Flucloxacillin is an Antibiotic and it is given for treating infection rather than for swelling , but as your infection will go , your swelling and other symptoms will also decrease gradually
Normally the course of treatment depends upon severity of infection and can last up to 7-10 days but as you are pregnant you should consult with your Doctor about it
you should keep infected area clean with mild warm water
if ur symptoms persists despite taking treatment than i would strongly suggest you to see a Gynecologist to rule out any underlying medical condition
I hope it help Thanks & Get well Soon
