How Long Should Bugesic Be Taken For Treatment Of Fever In A Toddler?
Hello doc...my son is 2 yr old n having fever since 4-5 days..fever is not so high...i m giving him i bugesic....wen i giv him medicine fever goes after 8-9 hours again fever is der..should i continue wid the medicine for more days or should i again go to doc

Bugesic acts to control fever & pain symptomatically . The action of drug lasts for 8 hours . Basicaaly cause of the fever needs to be found &treated.
So specific drug (antibiotic ) advised by a pediatritian to cure basic cause of fever along with Bugesic to control the fever till antibiotic starts having control cause... is usual strtegy to treat such patient.
If given this way bugesic is needed for about 3to 5 days at the most. (The dose needs to be repeated 8 hourly..thar is three times /day.
