How Long Does The Affect Of Cortisone Injection On Menstruation Last?

I got a cortisone injection between T7 and T8. Had no side effects after. However after 2 weeks I started my menstrual cycle, and for the last 2 weeks it s been light/heavy. I ve read this could be a side effect, but I don know how long it will last?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The effect of cortisone injection lasts for a couple of days usually, but it is the changes in the hormone levels at hypothalamus pitutary axis which provoke menstruation delay for such long period. Remain in regular follow up with your OBGYN for further guidelines in this direction.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
