How Long Does Pain And Numbness In Palm Take To Alleviate?

I had a lifting accident that required arthroscopic biceps tenodesis, capsular release, labral debridement, subacromial decompression, and rotator debridement. I then underwent ulnar nerve release with medial epicondyle debridement. I have finished all pt prescribed and still have numbness when moving my arm 90 degrees outward. Can I expect the numbness/ pain in palm to dissapate in the future? I am 1 yr post shoulder and 6 months post elbow

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the pain and numbness in palm post surgery of shoulder and elbow at period of 1 year does not sound to be alleviating over period of time in future. The reason sounds to be compression of nerve at brachial plexus level most likely. A nerve conduction study is best measure to do for proper diagnosis
and care accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
