Hi,

Norethisterone which is a derivative of female hormone used to regulate or delay periods. After taking the drug for three days, you may have to wait for 3 to 5 days. In 3 to 5 days after stopping the drug, uterine endometrium sheds due to lack of progesterone (since you have stopped the drug) causing withdrawal bleeding.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
