How Long Does An Ablation Normally Last?

I had an endromential ablation in November of 2014. No complications and my periods stopped immediately. Which was the whole reason for my procedure. I was having very heavy periods than they started becoming irregular. I started this month and having cramping just like I always did before my procedure. Not has heavy yet. But I am worried it will . My questions are: 1. How long does an ablation normally last? 2. Will I need another one?

Hi,

Endometrial ablation generally lasts from a few months to some years may be 1-4 years. Many a patient do not need to have another one, as they have usually normal period after sometime of ablation. However, a few may have again a problem of heavy bleeding and may need second ablation or some other medical treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
