How Long Does It Take To Know The Full Results Of The Ablation?

Hi, I had an Endometrial ablation on March 6. I had a period after the ablation in March, a normal period in April, and also in May. I also have a thick brownish looking discharge at times. I may wipe the brownish looking discharge one day but the next day there could be nothing. It just comes and goes between periods. How long should this last? How long does it take to know the full results of the ablation?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It can take up to 3 to 4 weeks for spotting and brown discharge to completely subside after endometrial ablation. If spotting persists after a month, follow up with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
