Hello! Statines are a wellknown group of drugs that cause myalgia. 10% of people using these drugs experience muscle pain. The patiens that have myalgia in general have some risk factors like age over 80, female, heavy physical activity, smll body, previous muscle pain, some drugs (azythromycin, corticosteroidsetc), comorbidities (hypothyroidism, kidney disease, alcoholism, diabetes or infections).
The side effects, myalgia also, are cause by the active substance of the drug. But if you have experienced muscle pain, it's right to stop the drug. Rosuvastatin eleiminates from the body in 19 hours, but the pain may last longer.
I hope i have been of help
