Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Long Do The Withdrawal Side Effects Of Effexor Last?
After about four months I quit effexor cold turkey. I know this is not recommended but I just want this chemical out of my system. Was prescribed it for night sweats. I m having withdrawals for sure but I will get through it. I just want to know how long before I can expect to start feeling better
The first thing I'd like to say that you can not quite an antidepressant cold turkey. To avoid withdrawal effects, you are advised to taper the dose in a given time period.
And unfortunately, withdrawal effects can last quite some time. Hopefully, by the end of the month, you'll be feeling better, but the symptoms for which you taking the Effexor may return.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
