How Long Do Advil And Motrin Stay In The Body?

Hello. I recently had a laparoscopic surgery for an ectopic pregnancy and had one of my Fallopian tubes removed. I took dilaidid regularly (2mg pills, a total of 15 pills) about 5 days following the surgery. I have not taken anything but Advil and Motrin for the last 72 hours. I have received a job offer and will be taking a drug test tomorrow morning. Will this medication cause a positive result in my test? Is there anything I can do to help get the medication out of my system prior to the test? Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Advil, Motrin contain ibuprofen which don't affect a drug test so they will not show up. Also, 72 hours are enough on clearing ibuprofen from the system.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
