How Does Pain In The Hips And Knees Indicate?

I stand all day long. I have developed pain from somewhere inside my hip and and goes down to the back of my knee cap and then there is severe pain from the knee joint along side the bone or muscle. When I stand it doesn t hurt but I m sure the long standing doesn t help. When I am resting or have my legs up the pain sometimes becomes unbearable and throbs. What is this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
In my opinion these symptoms may be due to inflammation around the hip joint or a collection around the joint.
A complete blood count and an ultrasonogical examination of the hip joint may be considered.
Also it is advisable to get your Vitamin D levels checked to see for viruses D deficiency.
I find this answer helpful
