my 13 year old (5 4 , 135 lb.) daughter had tonsils & adenoids removed 2/11. She has been coughing up mucus filled with bright red blood, off & on for several weeks - i was only aware of it recently & took her back to ENT upon learning this information. ENT examined w/scope and stated that she has a cyst in the area where her adenoids were. He has placed her on antibiotic tx and will recheck in 3 weeks. How common is this? And should I be concerned in regard to malignancy?? When asking the physican the next steps if this tx doesnt work - he replied one step at a time ; which made me uneasy.
I would suggest you to get her checkup done by an ENT Specialist for second opinion, also continue with the medications prescribed to you and look for the results.
Take care!
