How Can Vaginal Pain After Insertion Of Pedia-Lax Suppository Be Treated?

I accidentally put a glycerin pedialax liquid suppository into my 8 year old daughter’s vagina. I feel like the worst mother ever. It is the middle of the night and I didn’t turn the overhead light on...I had no idea until she started to scream and tell me Inhad put it in her “pee pee”. She put an ice pack in until I ran coolnwater for her to sit in in the bathtub. There does not appear to be any bleeding. As you can imagine, she won’t let me get near enough to see if she is swollen or anything. Is there anything else Inneed to do? She is laying with a rice ice pack now and seems okay. Should I call her pediatrician in the morning? I can’t even imagine trying to explain myself...this was hard enough, but if you think I should, I will. Thank you.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Based on the history you have shared, it was incidental happening and kindly try not to put guilt at you as with dark it was quite possible. The suppositories and glycerine will mesh up and will not hurt much however if any local trauma has occurred it will spontaneously heal. Sit baths can help but oral ibuprofen can be given and pediatrics review preferably by pediatric surgeon is better.
