How Can Uterine Fibroids Be Treated?

Hi
I am a 5 year old woman with large fibroids and almost finished with menopause. i ahve had 2 doctors tell me that I dont need a hysterectomy since Im so close to the end . Im still looking for a way to shrink them becasue I have back problems from a car accident and Im wondering if the fibroids are amking it worse. It was suggested that I try progesterone cream and also Stlantic cod liver oil orally and as a hear pack. When I tried to get the progesterone cream at my Giant Eagle pharmacy I was told to get it from a compound pharmacy ? any suggestions I cant stand or walk for more than 5 minutes without bad back pain and it ha been that way since my accident Been going through menopause for almost 10 years now ugh

Hello. Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. I doubt that fibroids could be causing you backache. The most common complaint is dysfunctional uterine bleeding or menorrhagia due to fibroids. So i think if you are already menopausal then there is no requirement for such fibroid removal. Back pain could be due to the accident or any pelvic infection if at all. I suggest you dont go in for fibroid removal unless you have any bleeding problems from them. Thanks. Hope i helped you out.
