How Can Tinnitus In A 70-year-old Be Treated?

Hello, doctor! I am a men of seventy years old. Since 3-4 months, I had the filling of a buzzing into my head or ears. At the begining, I didn t pay attention to this situation thinking it was possibly a noise around ex., from the fridge. At evenings and night time it bothers me a lot. I was at a audiologist who tested me for hearing loss and after this rcommanded hearing aids. Actually, I am able to communicate normally with others and I don t think wearing hearing aids will resolve the problem.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Tinnitus is due to many causes. Here I mentioned possible causes for tinnitus
1. BPPV
2. Acute labyrinthitis.
3. Anemia
4. Ménière's disease
5. Drugs
6. Eustachian tube block
7. Mandibular problems.
8. cardiac or neurological problem

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
You may avoid cool'drinks and freeze water, avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use tablet. Cognix plus twice a day for five days.
If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
