How Can Throat Boil Pain Caused By A Fish Bone Be Treated?
hi, my daughter had a fish bone stuck in her throat few days ago when i took her to the doctor she said I cant tell you if the bone is there but there is a boil in the throat caused due to the pricking of this bone and that is what is hurting her. She prescribed some medication but she stills complains that it is hurting her and sometimes says it is not.I am confused please advise.
Hi. Fish bone in the throat is a very tricky thing. Get another opinion of an ENT Surgeon, get endoscopy done. If the bone is seen, the Doctor would simply be removing it. Mere red spot can be due to a condition called granular pharyngitis and gives the same ''' FB (foreign Body) Sensation'' and the patient feel that he/ she has a FB. Unfortunately X-ray does not show fish bone. Change over to another antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines cure her. In rare cases I do explored digitally under general anesthesia. IF FB is felt , remove it, otherwise the patient, the relatives and the Doctor is satisfied that there is no FB .
