How Can Swelling In The Ears And Headache Be Treated?

Hi, I ve got slapped on the ear. Feels clogged now, but I have a swelling, like a abscess, sensitive to touch, located between my temporal bone and mandibular joint, left side of my skull. Right above the ear cartilage. I have headaches and I can t touch that swollen part. My hearing is still ok though. What would you recommend?

Hello,

I got your chief complaint and it is a case of trauma which had lead to:

Bleeding, infection and inflammation in the area causing swelling and pain. For symptomatic relief you are advised to take following medicines:

Rx Amoxycillin Clavulanic acid BD for 5 days, Tab Acelofenac +Paracetamol + serratiopeptidase 15mg BD for 5 days.

Tab Pantoprazole OD for 1 week. These are for symptomatic treatment. You are advised to visit a nearby hospital especially ENT department after 1 week for a checkup.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr SOHEEL HUSSAIN ZARGAR, Dentist
