How Can Slipped Disc Along With Bronchitis And Gastritis Be Treated?

Hi Doctors My self SUBHENDU PAUL A MAN OF 39 YEAR OLD HAVING SLIPPED DISK PROBLEM WITH CRONIC GASTRIC AND BRONCHITIS In the year 1986 at the age of 11 fell down from a tree approximate 40 ft. and got faint later found fracture in right hand and acute injury on waist. After 12 years in 1998 during bath when I bent to wet my towel, I heard a bon cracking noise from my waist part and start paining huge. Consulted with physician and taken pain clear and some home remedies but it never cured 100% rather it increases as time passed. In 2011 visited Apollo Hospital at Chennai, as per advice from consultant (Dr. Geetha Laxmi, Dr. Bala Subramanian etc.) went for MRI and found slipped disk and they prescribed 18 different tablets in a day for 3 months, after taken one month I didn’t found any improvement and thus I discontinued those 18 tablets fearing damage of kidney. In 22nd Feb 2014 in a fine morning I set out for my duty and all of sudden got stretched in my waist (right side) and within few minutes I became unable to move at all. Any how I reached home and lay on the bed and in the same day hospitalized and again they advised for MRI found acute lumber spondylosis (L4 & L5), after 3 days Hospital released and was lying on bed 1 month 14 days. After taking different medicine and continuous physiotherapy slowly I abled to move with the help of waist belt and stick. Again 2015 consult with Dr. Soumojit Basu at Park Clinic Kolkata, who again advised for MRI and digital X-ray but he found nothing serious and just advised for regular exercise and 10 session for physiotherapy, I followed his instruction but nothing improved. Day by day seems my physic condition is going down, even I can;t stand continuously for more than 10 minutes. Even not able lay in the bed in a same pause for more than 10 minutes. When I lay straightly on bed my left and right side (from waist to knee) starts burning. From neck to waist the entire back portion (especially back bone) pain heavily. I can’t lift my leg at 90 degree angle. I feel very weakness always, I can’t break stairs for 2nd floor or more than that. With a very little fluctuate of weather I use to get cold very badly and not get rid of until and unless I take antibiotic with montelukast sodium with levocetirizine. I use to suffering from huge gastric problem throughout the year. If it is empty stomach gas creates and even it is full stomach then also gas creates. Doctor I will remain ever great full to you if you could kindly advise me to get rid from above all problems especially from Slipped Disk.                                                   With warm regards                                                   Subhendu

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my surgical experience, the management of cervical pain needs definite intervention with neurosurgeon after confirmatory MRI.

So far as gastritis and bronchitis are concerned, it requires symptomatic treatment with
- Dietary measures
- Proton pump inhibitors
- Necessary antibiotics, decongestants, cough formulas as per the case need.
- Discuss the need of H. Pylori evaluation with upper GI endoscopy and X-ray chest with your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
