How Can Side Effects Of Pristiq Be Managed?

I am on Pristiq and experiencing side effects. Also, was om effexor for the past 13 years. Dr. also put me on klonopin to replace xanax. Now I can t get off Klonopin and it is affecting my memory. I got off the Konopin for one year with considerable difficulty. Had to go back on to function. Also prescribed a low dose of adderall to help with my need to have everything perfect! Any advice?

Hi,

Pristiq is having desvenlafaxine. It is a newer antidepressant drug with very minimal side effects.

So better not to change this drug as it is a least toxic antidepressant. It is also having minimal drug interactions so it will be great for you as you are also taking other drugs.

You need to treat side effects and don't bother much about it, just continue Pristiq. If serious side effects are there then only Ask your psychiatrist to change Pristiq.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
