How Can Shingles Be Treated?

I am a 74 year old male and have shingles (2 days). This is my first episode and am experiencing sore muscle pain in my shoulders, stomach, and general overall soreness in my torso. Is this connected to the shingle. The soreness started about 1 day prior to the rash and blisters. Thanks for the help, Al High

Hi,

You can take Acyclovir or Valacyclovir to stop further spreading of blisters. Also use Ibuprofen for pain. Use Calamine lotion to help with pain. Use cotton cloths and wide cloths to prevent friction. Use any antihistamines such Benadryl or Citerizine for itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
