How Can Severe Spasms In The Left Arm Be Treated?

I have had several injuries to my left wrist, arm, and shoulder over many years. I have recently been experiencing aggressive spasms in my left triceps that last upwards of 20 minutes as well as cramping in my left forearm that causes the palm of my hand to draw closer to the inside of my wrist. It pulls tighter and tighter until I manually pull my hand away from the wrist.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

At first instance it looks like the spasm are due to your past injuries, however we should not neglect seizure (brain neuron firing) in this situation. So consult neurophysician and get examined for it.

Till then you can try 2 doses of tablet diclofenac + chlorzoxazone 12 hours apart after meal, which mostly will relieve spasm. However don't postpone neurophysician visit.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
Dr. Hiren
