Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is 14 while driving on the school bus, it hit a large bump and her tailbone hit the metal on the seat/chair. She has been hurting for 3 months and its getting worse. I was told that their isn t a lot that can be done and it has to heal on its own. Is this true or could it be more serious and be broken? If its broken, what can be done. She is in tears from the pain.

How Can Severe Pain In The Tailbone Be Treated?
Hello, The symptoms are more consistent with conditions like coccyalgia. As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
