How Can Severe Pain In The Penis Be Treated?

I just had a mountain bike accident and hit my penis on the handle bars. I have internal bleeding from the penis which I was able to stop after 10 mins of direct pressure(no external cuts or scrapes). After 45 mins I had to urinate which made it start bleeding again( could tell by the pain the injury is around the head of the penis). I stopped it again with direct pressure while lying down. After another hour, I urinated again(which took about 3 seconds to start because the eternal blood clot wouldn t let the urine come out). Once it came out there was much internal pain(in the head area) and now the bleeding only stops when I m laying down. I m on ibuprofen. Can I get away with out visiting a Dr.?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your trauma.

As you said you are having repeated episodes of bleeding, make sure lying down stops it, may be their can be backward flow to urinary bladder. You must take some little fluids for 4-5 hours to make sure that clot formation happens but don't keep without fluid for too long.

Second thing as the injury is at a place where the infection chances are more, have some antibiotic cover like ofloxicin.
If bleeding doesn't stop and swelling increases you must visit a physician, may be you may need catheter to stop bleeding.

Hope the answer to your query.
