How Can Severe Pain In The Legs Be Treated?

My friend is and has been on oxycodone for months along with maybe taking 800 mg. Advil daily. She is 400 lbs., increasingly unable to walk without help and is extremely depressed. Family intervention is met with deaf ears. She refuses to go to the doctor for her pain and prognosis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
she should have multidisciplinary approach. she should be seen by dietician and medicine doctor. she has morbid obesity which contributing to leg pain and depression. taking medication without proper diagnosis leads to side effect of the medication and delaying of proper treatment of underlying cause. counsel her to see dietician join weight loss program. cut down carbs from her diet. and do full metabolic profile for her ( liver kidney funtion test. thyroid function test. lipid profile etc )
