How Can Severe Pain In The Buttock And Left Hip Be Treated?
Hi I m a 64yr female with two lumberectomies, 4-5lumbar 2003 and 2004, I have been travling cross country in our RV and have been experiecning buttock pain in left hip. Went on line and I think it maybe piriformis syndrome. I thought the pain was from sitting on ball park benches this summer as it went away. Now I m to the point where my left leg is weak, can not put weight on it going up and down stairs there is pn down the leg front and back sometimes. I sleep fine but sitting or walking(2-4miles a day) I have lots of hip pn, bot I do back stretches in the AM and sometimes in the PM take tylenol arthiritis.
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it's a possibility but can be due to nerve entrapment and MRI of the hip joint and muscles surrounding that. Orthopedic surgeon review may be needed.
Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen can be used for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
