How Can Severe Pain During A Pap Smear Examination Be Treated?
Thank you. I had a cone biopsy done in 2013. Have had scan done every year since abdominal and vaginal and it was negative and found to be irremarkable. However, I have a totally closed cervix now. Gyno tried to open the cervix but the pain was unbearable. So he could not get a proper pap smear. What else can be done to get a pap smear. I cannot go thru with that excruciating pain.
There is no other way to do Pap smear. If you want to go through Pap smear then tell gynecologist to give some sedation. In sedation, you cannot feel pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Purva Patel
