Hello,

Without an exam, I can only give general information. The staging is the main issues. So, there's terminal cancer pain and then there's regular post-op pain. I've got a patient with the latter. It just damped down in the second year. No reason. But no reason it should have been there. Indeed, it might have been a high back disk disease and not from the kidney. If it is cancer all over pain.

1) the pain is all over and
2) Palliative Care is cheap and without upper limits on narcotics to give.
3) sorry. If it isn't terminal, it can be complex from irritated nerves and a wide variety of non-narcotic medicine starting with a Lidocaine patch would be the first things to try as they are quite safe and quite cheap.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
