How Can Severe Cellulitis In The Leg Be Treated?

Hi, My mother had her right leg amputated about a year ago due to cellulitis, diabetes, and necrotizing faciitis. Now, her left leg is showing signs of severe cellulitis with the leg being red and scaly from about halfway down the shin to the ankle and oozes daily. What can I do to help?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Take her to nearest hospital at the earliest and start on intravenous antibiotics to avoid unwanted complications.
We have to go for a blood culture to chose appropriate antibiotics. As of now give proper limb care and make sure that blood sugar level is under control.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
