How Can Severe Burning Sensation In The Throat Be Treated?

Hi I m a 49 year old female who eats mostly healthy food and exercises 3-4 times a week. I just now had a cup of non caffeine tea, a few blue corn chips and a piece of pepper jack cheese (30minutes or so) and all of a sudden some thing came into my throat that burned really bad. Not like I felt like it was going to vomit just like a liquid that was just sitting in my throat. It wouldn t come out by spitting or go back down with almond milk. Eventually after a few minutes of drinking and spitting I burped twice and felt a little better. I m about 70% normal now. Is this gurd or reflux from acid?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
The description given points to an episode of of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). It may be a one time occurance. The things that were taken earlier like tea, & chips can initiate hyperacidity and also reflux. You may take a drug like Omeprazole 20 mg before next food intake and also if needed an antacid liquid to relieve the symptoms.
If you have never had similar episodes earlier, then it may be a one of thing. However, it is better to avoid spicy foods and also strong beverages. Plus take above mentioned medications for a few days. Thanks
