For 4 yrs I have been treated for severe scoliosis pain with Vicodin I also suffer from chronic anxiety disorder and have been treated with Xanax ,now .5 mg 3/ day prn.Due to laws changing regarding use of bentos and opioids,my md is attempting to wean me off Xanax and gave me Zoloft.This is the second Sri I have tried and they make me extremely anxious and I ll.I cannot and will not take anymore Sri meds.My question is what anti anxiety med does not have the side effect of anxiety.Just because I am now over 65, I have to make a choice between living with intractable pain or crippling anxiety.I am extremely careful with my meds and have not had problems.Of course over 4 yrs time,the doses have been slowly increased.Without meds for pain and anxiety my quality of life stinks.Any suggestions ?
