Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Scabies is treated by applying antiscabetic lotion for all family members whether they have skin lesions or not. In case of any pus or secondary infection, the infection should be treated first and followed by antiscabetic lotion application. In addition, all clothing and bedding should be washed. This is the treatment protocol for scabies. In my experience, the most common mistake done by patients is that all family members usually do not apply the antiscabetic medication. This leads to recurrence. Please consult your nearby dermatologist and follow his prescription.

Hope you got the answer.

Thank You. Get well soon.

Dr. P. Siva Subramanian.
