General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an inflammatory chronic disorder, that affects joints. Considering the treatment that you are taking, I think you are dealing with a resistant type of the disease.

You have to continue your treatment regularly for three to four months and then return to the rheumatologist that is treating your disease, for reevaluation of the treatment.

The aim of the treatment is to reduce inflammation, improve symptoms of active rheumatoid arthritis, and prevent further damage to the joints.

If you notice a decrease in pain and swelling, this means that the therapy is effective and you should continue it regularly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Suela Gjata, General & Family Physician
