Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is there anything I can do for puffy pockets under my eyes? I get enough sleep and do have allergies. I am 72 years old but in good health overall. I do put a cold cloth on them in the morning, but they are still very puffy. Could I be retaining water or could it be from my sinuses? Thank you!
The causes can be due to lack of proper sleep, allergic problems, anemia and lack of nutrition, liver problems etc. So these should be ruled out. Even medicines causing blood vessels dilatation also gives this.
Routine blood analysis should be done to rule out anemia. If positive then taking supplements will be helpful. You should also get proper sleep daily. Get stress relaxation by doing stress relaxing exercises like breathing exercise. Liver function test should be done to rule out any liver problems also.
Taking vitamin E and vitamin C supplements are also helpful. You can also use Kojic Acid based creams for fading the skin darkness. Also take enough water to hydrate the skin.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
General Surgeon
