General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
ARI(Acute respiratory tract infection) is a common problem in infancy and can cause concern to parents.
There is no need to worry as it is easily cured with timely treatment and chances of complications are very less.
I suggest you to consult a general practitioner or a pediatrician and get the following things done:
1.Start a short course of antibiotics like amoxicillin syrup for five to seven days.
2.You can give paracetamaol syrup for fever.
3.Abtihistamines like cetrizine can provide symptomatic relief.
4.Use nasal decongestants like oxymetazoline in case of blocked nostrils .
5.Expectorant cough syrup can be given to clear up secretions.
If the symptoms persist despite all these , investigations like chest X-ray and basic blood investigations may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.

Regards.
Dr.Shinas
