How Can Persistent Cold Be Treated?

My wife is 28 years. We stay in Mumbai. Now-a-days she has cold almost every week. She uses Otrivin nasal drops every night before sleep and sometimes takes Rinostat tablets. But they are not so effective to her. Can you please suggest something else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your wife see to be related to an allergy. I suggest to do the allergy test for further evaluation. Meanwhile,I suggest to use a steroid nasal spray such as Otrivin that you are already using. I also suggest to use antihistamine such as Cetirizine 10 mg daily to relieve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
