Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am suffering from cough and cold for the last one year. Often it ok without any medicine. Sometime cough started continuously for 10 to 15 minutes and then automatically ok after taking some luke warm water or tea. PFT test is ok, IEG test report is 6.1. In a week only 4 days -4 kilomete walk and after walking no problem. Please tell me what I have to do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent cold and cough which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection and impaired immunity of body.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages and avoid intake of sharp spicy food. Avoid smoke if you do and exposure to smoking particles. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. You can go for blood and sputum tests as well and start proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications. Drink one spoon of honey daily in lukewarm water. You should apply mist humidifiers in room and take throat lozenges.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
