How Can Persistent Ankle Pain Going Up To The Legs Be Cured?

I have pain and swelling in my ankle. The pain is radiating about 2 inches above my ankle into my leg. I am unable to sleep due to the discomfort and pain. This has been going on for about 4 days. What can I take for the pain that will allow me to get some sleep?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Pain and swelling in ankle suggest collection or fluid or pus in ankle joint.

Collection of fluid in ankle joint can be due to infection or reactive condition.

I suggest you consult an orthopedician at the earliest.

In the meanwhile, you may take a painkiller for the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
