How Can Patella Femoral Syndrome In The Right Knee Be Treated?
In July 2017 I was diagnosed with Patellafemoral Syndrome in my right knee. I received 3 cortisone shots in 3 weeks and another shot that I forget the name of. They described it as adding lubricant to help me knee track better. In August I started to see a decrease in my sex drive and now I’m December it comes and goes when it wants. Sometimes it’s none existent which is weird because I’m only 28. Is this a sign of too high cortisol levels and should I go see a doctor?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Surgery is prescribed only in rare cases when patellofemoral pain cannot be eased with braces, rest or physical therapy.
Depending on the amount of malignant, you typically will be asked to try a well-supervised rehabilitation program for six weeks to six months. In most cases, you will need to continue the exercises you learn in physical therapy for life, which include specific movements for strengthening the knee, hamstring and calf muscles. If your patellofemoral pain continues, surgery may be recommended, although this is relatively uncommon.
Hope I have answered your query.
