General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Firstly, as he is suffering and treated many times, I suggest having a clean and clear report, again, from a good reputed diagnostic facility.
The tests that should be done are:
1. Complete Blood Count
2. Uric Acid level
3. ESR
4. Kidney Function Test
5. X-ray of the feet

Meanwhile I strongly recommend these:
1. No meat
2. No alcohol
3. Limit fructose intake
4. Increase intake of dairy products, vitamin C, coffee, and cherries, etc
5. Maintaining weight. Maintain Basal Metabolic Index (BMI within 20-22.9)

Now, do the test first then start medicine.

Allopurinol can be taken. After 1 month, uric acid level to be checked again.

Post another question with the test results, any doc can follow you up. Do not worry. He's under treatment. After the test, we can follow an aggressive treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
