How Can Painful Cystic Acne On The Face Be Treated?
Hi, I have been suffering with a cyst type of hard painful bullet looking shape that is a milky white rubbery substance and takes months to remove clusters of them and when pulled out with tweezers they are very painful and bleed a lot it seems to take about a year or more to rid the area on my face of them. Can you put a name to these things? Thank you. Jackie
Hello and welcome to HCM. Thanks for putting up your query over here. What you have got is cystic acne, severe form of acne when the infection spreads more deepervand wider in skin. -It is treated by oral antibiotics like azithromycin. Local application as well as oral intake of retinoids may be necessary for 5-6 months(prescription drug). Sometimes, birth control pills may be given as this form of acne may be caused by hormonal imbalance(for females) -Avoid pricking the acne.Avoid touching the face with unclean hands. -Practice regular yoga and meditation to destress yourself. -Have healthy balanced diet including lots of fruits and vegetables.Have sleep for minimum of 8 hours .Avoid applying any cosmetic commercial products over the skin. As the problem is since 1 year, you need to visit dermatologist and gynaecologist for further treatment. Thanks and regards.
