Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had knee surgery on November second, Part of my hamstring got turned into a tendon to hold my knee cap in place. I have been doing everything I have been told to do but my knee doesn t want to bend past between 45 degrees and 55 degrees, I also still cant do straight leg raises due to my muscle not engaging. I really don t want to have a second surgery and I really need to get back to work soon. I have no pain walking at all or even standing, the only time I have pain is when trying to bend my knee. There is a painful locking/pulling sensation when I have had my knee bent for a while then try to straighten my leg out or vise versa. It feels as if my knee needs to pop but wont. The pain is mainly on the opposite side of where the surgery was, I really want to know whats going on and what I can do to get my knee to bend. I m only 20 years old and really don t want to go the rest of my life with a messed up knee which is why I had the surgery in the first place!

How Can Pain Upon Bending The Knees Be Treated?
Hello, You go through physiotherapy which is helpful to you. You can also consult another orthopedic surgeon for further management. Apply Diclofenac spray on the affected part. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Purva Patel
