How Can Pain In The Upper Knee Be Treated?

Pain in right posterior knee upper and lower leg on weight bearing.have been going to pt for 3 months .am told it is my muscles .and need to strengthen them. X-ray ...no arthritis. Fell Jan that s when pain started.told by PT I did not need mri.....6 months of pain and no progress

Hi,

Once the arthritis has been ruled out, it can be due to ligament or tendon injury. You can try analgesics like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, you can consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan. Wishing you good health.
