II m a 69 year old female who while walking back from the mailbox about 2 weeks ago twisted/ turned my right foot. I almost fell but I didn t. Every time I walk my foot hurts, even when i m sitting down and move my foot it hurts. Where my foot hurts is the instep of my right foot. My foot at the instep is hot to the touch . I just thought I twisted/sprain my foot. I have been putting off going to my doctor for I thought it would soon get better. I guess I just want to know if my foot coulf be broken- I frrl like I sprain my foot. What can I do to make it better or should I just go to my doctor. Thank You
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
There might be some ligament injury or sometimes a tiny hairline fracture that may not be seen in a routine X-ray. You can go for an MRI scan to rule out ligament injury and to rule out hairline fracture. As of now take analgesics like Diclofenac along with Serratiopeptidase for pain relief and also to subside inflammation and redness. If the symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query.
