How Can Pain Around An Incisional Hernia Be Repair Site Be Treated?

I had an incisional hernia repaired about three years ago. I was never the same since. I had a lot of pain and bowel problems. Last year, I ended up with a bowel obstruction and major surgery. I had an incision from sternum to pelvic area. The surgeons assistant removed the staples too soon and my whole incision came open about a half hour after removal. I am still having major pain and problems. I just found out that my abdominal muscles are on my sides and not healed together and I have a large hiatal hernia, plus both small and large bowel hernias and even my sigmoid colon is herniated. They are telling me it will be a 6 hour surgery and very involved and that I have to let the surgeon that did the original repair assist. I feel very uncomfortable with that and really do not want to ever see him again. Do I have to have him?
