How Can Osteoporosis Shrinking Be Treated?

I take 850 mg of metformin twice a day. I may also have osteroporosis because I am shrinking. I am 74. I read that 4 beers a week were good for osteoporosis. (I don t want to continue shrinking). Maybe take my metformin and then wait a couple of hours to have a beer?
