Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If a DEXA scan has already not been done then it can be advised to tailor the appropriate management and prevent any impending fractures in the future. If there is clinical evidence example prior history, X-ray is showing decreased bone density then DEXA scan may not be needed and treatment can be initiated. Yes, these are consistent with your diagnosis.

Wishing you best of health!

Thanks,
Dr. Muhammad Sareer Khalil,
General & Family Physician
