How Can Osteoarthritis And Rheumatoid Arthritis Be Treated?

I take simvastatin 10 mg and Losarten 100 mg daily. My cholestdrol level has lowered, blood pressure slightly rises; but I notice semi-frequent bouts of rhematoid arthritis. My hands lock up, very painful. I have osteoarthritis in my knee. What foods, forms of exercise can I use/do to improve the quality of my life?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Are you a known patient of rheumatic arthritis?

Presence of RF factor is suggestive of rheumatoid arthritis with positive radiological features.

If you are already a known patient then you have to use DMARDS (disease modifying agents for rhuematic disease). Sulfasalazine, methotrexate are some of the drugs used for it.

please visit rheumatologist for more details and correct diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Siddartha
