Hello,

Your husband can stop Gabapentin, but you should discuss the issue with your doctor. Because Gabapentin may be controlling his neuropathic pain and the pain may recur after stopping the medicine. If he is taking Gabapentin for a long time and high dose it should be stopped by gradually decreasing the dose. Abrupt stopping may cause withdrawal symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
